Daikin VZ Series Piston Hydraulic Pump

Daikin VZ Series Piston Hydraulic Pump is designed for industrial applications where high volume and pressure is needed from a small pump housing. Daikin supplies five models VZ50, VZ63, VZ80, VZ100 and VZ130, having displacement from 50.2 to 135.9 cm³/rev respectively. The unique design aspect of the VZ Series is the cradle swash plate design. Cradle swash plate design provides high rigidity to the swash plate assembly and allows the pump to create high pressure in a small and light body.

The VZ pump design features a spherical valve plate, as well as the optimum hydraulic balancing system. This combination is instrumental in providing stable performance under diverse operating conditions. Spherical valve plates are characterized by increased resistance to abrasions and wear caused by contamination. The designers of the pump made an effort to decrease the noise level of the pump by designing the housing and swash-plate assembly for quiet operation. The designers state that special methods of analysis were employed to decrease the noise level.

The displacement of the pumps is 50.2 cm³/rev for VZ50, 63.0 cm³/rev for VZ63, 79.6 cm³/rev for VZ80, 104.6 cm³/rev for VZ100, and 135.9 cm³/rev for VZ130. All five models have an allowed range of rotation speed from 500 to 1,800 rpm. Models VZ50, VZ63, VZ80, and VZ100 are characterized by maximum pressure up to 28 MPa. The VZ130 model has a maximum pressure of 21 MPa

Pressure compensating control is included throughout the range. The function lowers pump displacement upon reaching a set pressure by the hydraulic circuit, which helps avoid unnecessary flow and energy waste. The pressure adjusting range includes 1.5–7 MPa, 1.5–14 MPa, 3.5–21 MPa, and in particular models – 3.5–28 MPa. Combining control is possible with VZ50, VZ63, VZ80, and VZ100 pumps. The system allows setting up low/high pressure and low/high flow modes. According to Daikin, combining control is not available for VZ130.
