Nachi UPV Hydraulic Motor Pump is a hydraulic power system that consists of a motor-driven electric pump along with a PVS Series variable displacement piston pump. In other words, Nachi calls this combination as “Uni-Pump.” Due to direct attachment of motor with the pump, the system offers a better option than the installation of the separate pump, motor, coupling, and alignment system.
Nachi UPV is different from the usual type of hydraulic motor. Here, the electric motor drives the movement of the rotary pump using mechanical motion, which is then converted to hydraulic pressure and flow by the pump. The whole combination makes it appropriate for use in machines that need hydraulic power in an easy-to-install form.
Nachi’s PVS pumps feature a low-noise design around the shoe, swash plate, and valve plate. Moreover, it features the use of a semi-cylindrical swash plate that ensures stability in pump operation. Thus, the UPV units can supply more stable and quiet hydraulic power compared to the traditional fixed-displacement pump/motor system.
UPV series comprises UPV-0A, UPV-1A and UPV-2A series sizes. Available nominal pump displacements are 8, 16, 22, 35 and 45 cubic centimeters per revolution. UPV-0A utilizes PVS-0B pump, UPV-1A utilizes PVS-1B pump, and UPV-2A utilizes PVS-2B pump. Nachi specifies the output power range of motors from 0.75 to 7.5 kW. For the small and medium capacity motors there are configurations of UPV-0A and UPV-1A, while for high power motors – configurations of UPV-2A.
One of the important benefits of UPV pump design is convenient installation process. Due to the fact that the motor and pump have been already matched and connected directly, it is not necessary to perform the same shaft alignment procedure as with the separate components. This configuration may result in shorter length of the whole assembly and fewer mounting parts. According to Nachi data, the Uni-Pump series is designed for compact configuration of the equipment and convenient installation.
