Mitsubishi MK Hydraulic Pump is an axial piston pump that designed with a cam plate construction for demanding applications where high output, reliable delivery and stability are required in hydraulic power units. Mitsubishi presents various designs of both fixed- and variable-displacement pumps with a wide variety of displacements and control types. The series incorporates several types of pumps working with standard petroleum fluid, low pulse pressure fluid, steering gear fluid, tandem pumps and fire resistant fluid versions.

The MK design involves lightweight design and good self-suctioning properties, low noise operation. Depending on the model chosen, the standard displacement range may vary between 67.4 to 552 cm³/rev. The maximum standard MKV model can provide pressure of 34.3 MPa and 39.2 MPa max pressure while the tandem version MKV-23KE/23HE allows reaching 49 MPa max pressure. There are such control options as constant power control, constant pressure control, constant power with flow control, pressure cut-off control, electric motor control, hand wheel control, electro-hydraulic servo control and lever servo control.

Correct matching is not only depend on the displacement but also on other aspects such as the rotation direction, mounting, shaft design, type of hydraulic fluid used, controller, access packages and delivery. The Mitsubishi MK line of pumps can operate in a clockwise or counter-clockwise rotation, with a flanged mount and various types of shafts. The low pulsation and fire-resistant fluid types need special considerations since they have a different allowance in terms of pressure, speed and fluid.

Proper service life requires clean oil, correct viscosity, proper inlet condition and correct commissioning. Any dirt, air entering the system, incorrect suction line, incorrect operation beyond allowable pressure and speed will result in noise, heating, inefficiency and internal damages. Prior to any replacement, verification of the entire model number and comparison of mounting, shaft, controller and ports should be performed.
