Mitsubishi FG Hydraulic Pump is a piston hydraulic pump of the reciprocating design, intended for systems with high pressure and reliable supply. According to Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, FG is a highly efficient hydraulic pump with maximum pressure of up to 49.0 MPa. Simple design, small size, high efficiency, and minimal acoustic noise of the series make it appropriate for industrial use for reliable operation of hydraulic drives through repeated operating cycles.

The FG series consists of pumps of different capacities. According to the official data of Mitsubishi, it includes models starting from compact FGS with a displacement of 1.89 cm³/rev and reaching 288.64 cm³/rev. There are FGS, FG6, FGV15, FG30, FG40, FG65 and other models of this series, and operating conditions differ depending on piston diameter, stroke, and capacity of the pump. Smaller pumps have the higher speed limit, while pumps of greater displacement provide greater flow at the lower speed limit. Maximum and rated pressure also vary depending on the model; thus, full designation of the model is to be taken into consideration.

Several models are available in stand mounted and flange mounted configurations. Assemblies with drive shaft opposite, discharge opposite and dual drive shaft are also available as per Mitsubishi. Such configuration will enable designers to incorporate this pump into a new HPU or replace an old one without making unnecessary changes in the configuration. However, configuration, rotation, porting and drive arrangement need to be confirmed from the machine information and name plate of the old pump.

It is important that the pump runs with a clean hydraulic fluid and proper inlet line. Contaminated oil, poor suction, air leak, misalignment or high pressure will decrease the pump's delivery and cause damage to pistons, bearings, seals and internal surfaces. Oil analysis, filter change, leakage check and temperature measurements will assist to have consistent performance. In case of any strange vibration, noise and pressure fluctuations, they should be checked before causing serious trouble.
