The Oilgear PVV-540 is a heavy duty, high capacity axial piston pump for large hydraulic systems that require maximum flow, pressure and reliability. With a displacement of 540 cc/rev this pump is designed to deliver high volume fluid flow in industrial power units, large presses, marine hydraulics, mining equipment and other heavy duty applications where hydraulic power and endurance is critical.
This pump runs on an open loop circuit with fast control response making it ideal for systems that need smooth yet powerful hydraulic output. It can support continuous pressures up to 345 bar and peak pressures around 400 bar so it can operate under heavy load and demanding duty cycles without compromising performance. The PVV-540’s maximum permissible operating speed is around 1,200 RPM balancing high hydraulic output with stable and reliable operation even under continuous use.
At full displacement and continuous rated pressure the PVV-540 delivers high flow rates — 129 gpm (≈ 488 l/min) at 1,000 RPM and up to 155 gpm (≈ 587 l/min) at 1,200 RPM. This high flow capacity supports large hydraulic circuits, multiple actuators and heavy demand systems. This makes the pump ideal for large industrial installations, high power mobile hydraulics and large fluid power units.
Oilgear designed the PVV-540 with durability in mind. Key internal features include pressure lubricated swashblock, polymer journal bearings, hardened cylinder wear surfaces and sealed front shaft bearing. These components work together to reduce internal wear, improve contamination tolerance and maintain reliable operation — even with low viscosity or specialty hydraulic fluids. The rugged construction ensures long service intervals and consistent performance in harsh environments.
The PVV-540 is also flexible in terms of installation and configuration. You can choose from different shaft options, porting directions, mounting flanges (ISO 250 / 4-bolt) and sealing materials — making it easier to integrate into existing hydraulic frameworks or new designs. It also supports coupling with other pumps for even larger flow requirements making it versatile for custom heavy duty hydraulic solutions.
