Mitsubishi RMM Hydraulic Motor

Mitsubishi RMM Hydraulic Motor

Mitsubishi RMM Hydraulic Motor is a two-speed radial piston motor developed for low-speed, high-torque hydraulic drives. RMM-210 and RMM-350 models switch between high displacement for strong working torque and lower displacement for faster movement.

Mitsubishi RMM Hydraulic Motor is a low speed and high torque radial piston hydraulic motor with the ability to perform two speed switch over function. This motor has been developed by Mitsubishi to create a smaller and lighter weight with better performance, slip characteristic, and service life of the motor. With the two-speed option available in the motor, the drive can be operated with high displacement for low speed and torque and low displacement for fast movement.

There are two variants in the range called RMM-210 and RMM-350 motors. Mitsubishi RMM Hydraulic Motor, RMM-210 has 2,099 cm³/rev of displacement at low speed and 629 cm³/rev of displacement at high speed. On the other hand, the RMM-350 motor has 3,507 cm³/rev at low speed and 1,052 cm³/rev at high speed. The rated pressure of this motor is 20.6 MPa and the maximum pressure is 24.5 MPa.

The type description denotes the family of motors, low and high speed displacement, series code, rotation, shaft and auxiliary equipment. According to Mitsubishi, an optional automatic two-speed switch-over valve can be used in addition to a drainless version of the product. Rotation and the particular taper shaft design have to match the auxiliary equipment. Among other applications mentioned by Mitsubishi, there are construction machines, cargo loading and transportation machines, industrial machinery, injection molding machines and ships.

The correct installation and control of the switch-over circuit will avoid problems such as shock, unstable speed or unwanted mode switching. The cleanliness of the oil, proper pressures and drainage will still be required for the life of the pistons, valves and seals. When conducting maintenance of the system, it is recommended that the automatic switch-over valve, hydraulic lines, mounting, shaft connection and leaks be inspected. The weakness of torque in low-speed operation or non-operation of speed changing can also indicate malfunction of the control circuit in addition to the motor.
