OMEW Danfoss Orbital Motor

Danfoss OMEW orbital motor is a low speed and high torque hydraulic motor developed by Danfoss for delivery of efficient rotary power in mobile machines and tough environments. The motor utilizes hydraulic energy for converting it to mechanical rotation enabling the machine to move and do other drive-related tasks. The OMEW motors have been developed with a compact and efficient design as well as a good start torque for machines which need smooth operation.

There are two versions of OMEW motors which include standard and low-speed. Both the two versions can be used in propulsion operations although both have strengths and weaknesses under different hydraulic flow situations. While the standard OMEW has been designed to be efficient under high flow situations, the low-speed has been developed to give improved efficiency under lower speeds and medium pressures. There are different displacement capacities in terms of geometry depending on the configuration chosen and ranging from about 100 to 400 cm³ per revolution.

This Danfoss hydraulic motor is ideal for use in different mobile and industrial machinery like walk-behind mowers, ride-on mowers, scissor lifts, sweepers, and road rollers. In some machinery design types, the motor will be able to generate rotational force needed for propulsion or driving tasks. Because of its compact size, high bearing capacity, and low-speed performance, the OMEW motor is good for equipment that requires careful and reliable movement. The high-pressure shaft seal in the motor allows its operation within the proper hydraulic system parameters without the additional drain line in the specified configuration.
