The Kawasaki M2X/M5X Axial Piston Hydraulic motors are swash-plate, fixed displacement, axial piston type motors that are specifically made for swing operation on excavators, cranes and other construction machinery.

M2X/M5X series are part of the fixed displacement axial piston motors with swash plate design. The piping from the control valve to the motor port connects the relief valve and make-up valve elements that are incorporated into the motor to achieve swing function.

With the piston/cylinder part, mechanical brake part, and attached valve part neatly placed, the design has made it possible for an incredibly compact engine. The motor's mounting flange has been widened to allow for a direct connection to the ring gear of a reduction gear.
