Eaton Vickers V2020 Hydraulic Pump consists of two sections of fixed-displacement balanced-vane housed in the same body. The double pump may be used to run two different open circuit systems or be combined in one well-designed hydraulic system with its two flows. The flow rate of shaft-end section varies between 6 to 13 US gallons per minute depending on the exact model code, while that of the cover-end section ranges between 6 to 11 US gallons per minute.
Both sections run on the same drive shaft but generate a separate volume of flow each revolution of which is defined by the drive speed. The combination of displacements allows running two hydraulic functions with their distinct flow needs in one V2020 pump without the need for two individual pumps.
This design assists in resisting the effects of internal pressure forces and minimizes the effect of excessive radial loads on the shaft and bearing. With this design, the pump will ensure reliable and fixed flow performance under conditions of clean hydraulic fluid and correct viscosity.
Some V2020 models can be used with maximum pressure up to about 172 bar. However, the allowable pressure is dependent on the displacement, speed, hydraulic fluid, temperature, application duty cycle and differs for both sections. Therefore, the user is required to confirm the allowable pressure of the complete pump model code prior to commissioning the pump.
V2020 pump can be applied in hydraulic power packs, machine tools, agricultural machinery, material handling equipment and multi-function mobile systems. In this case, the first section can be used to provide the main circuit while the other supplies an auxiliary, steering or clamping circuit.
Different versions may differ in terms of shaft configuration, mounting flange, port location, cover type, rotation direction and displacement of each of the pumping sections. These features are very important to determine the compatibility because the only model series V2020 cannot assure the suitability of the pump.
