Danfoss Series 40 M46 Tandem Axial Piston Pumps are closed-circuit pumps that convert input torque into hydraulic power. The cylinder block receives rotational force from the input shaft. The input shaft is supported by bearings at the pump's front and back. The input shaft and cylinder block are joined by splines. An end lip seal at the front of Where the shaft leaves the pump housing, the pump stops leaks.
The swashplate angle is set by the servo piston, and the amount of fluid displaced into the system is controlled with this. By altering the differential pressure across the piston, the pump control modifies the piston's position. Additionally, the pump cools itself by using extra flow from the charge pressure release valve. This fluid is returned to the reservoir via case drain ports. This flow is supplied by a gerotor-style charge pump, which also keeps the system loop's pressure at a minimum.
40 M46 integrated tandem pumps are used in medium-power applications and come with 45.9 cm3 [2.80 in3] displacements, designed for loads up to 345 bar [5,000 psi]. They provide continuously variable speed in both forward and reverse. These pumps are used in road construction machinery (pavers, rollers, and trenchers) and material handling machinery (skid steer loaders and dual-path vehicles), providing high performance even in the most demanding conditions.
Characteristics
- Continuously variable speed in both forward and reverse
- Compact, lightweight, low noise, and power dense
- Wide range of controls and auxiliary mounting pads to accept auxiliary hydraulic pumps
- Efficient axial-piston / slipper design with tiltable swashplate to vary pump displacement
