Oilgear D-3517 Legacy Variable Displacement Pump is a two-way, variable discharge speed hydraulic pump specifically designed for open loop systems, which require high precision of speed control, smooth reversals, as well as reliability. Part of the Oilgear’s Legendary “D” Series, the “D-3517” is based on an established legacy of high-performance industrial machines, which has stood the test of time over decades of numerous industrial applications.
Requiring variable displacement sizing, the D-3517 changes the amount of fluid discharged based on the system need. As such, the hydraulic power needed can now be utilized based on the amount of done work. With varying resisting forces, there would be an instant change in the pressure without any energy waste as compared to the fixed displacement technique that would employ the use of flow control valves.
The Oilgear D-3517 has a maximum operational speed of 1200 RPM and a maximum continuous pressure of up to 2100 psi. This makes it an appropriate pump model to be used in processing machines, presses, and material handling systems in the industrial field where there is a need for controlled motion and high repetition rates. The two-way function enables the pump to reverse smoothly without the use of direction control valves in the system.
Internally, the pump uses multiple radial rolling pistons, which are capable of supporting high contact loads and are also stable when it comes to output. The unit can have just one or two control mechanisms, high-pressure relief valves, and auxiliary gear pumps together with relief valves, depending on the model. Lastly, the use of Oilgear’s pintle check-type suction and return valves ensures the supporting of the two-way systems, whether they are non-differential or differential.
Oilgear D-3517 Legacy Variable Displacement Pump is especially useful in situations wherein the speed control, flow reversals, and simplification of electrical control are desired. Methods that ensure a reduced use of external flow control and directional control valves have aided in the simplification of hydraulic circuits in the D-3517 Legacy system.
